Ready to belt it out? Lauren Bushnell fools fiancé Ben Higgins into thinking he's going to be singing the national anthem at a baseball game on Ben & Lauren: Happily Ever After's Tuesday, October 18, episode, as seen in a sneak peek.
The Freeform unscripted series focuses on the Bachelor season 20 lovebirds. The preview clip shows Bushnell, 26, setting up a hidden camera just before Higgins, 28, receives a phone call from a rep for the Colorado Rockies to finalize the plan to have the software salesman throw out the first pitch at a game.
"OK, so here's the deal — I'm playing a prank on Ben," Bushnell tells the camera. "So he's throwing out the first pitch at the Rockies game, and I'm going to have the Rockies call him and tell him that they want to sing the national anthem. And I'm pretty sure that's one of his biggest fears, so he's going to freak out."
When the former Bachelor answers the call, the team rep tells him, "Thank you in advance for coming and helping us out on Monday. … We were thinking that it might be really fun if along with throwing out the first pitch, you would consider singing the national anthem for us."
As Higgins processes this latest development, a big smile spreads across his face. "Really?" he asks. The episode then shows Bushnell worrying that "he's going to be so mad" when he realizes his effort was all for naught.
Last week's series premiere focused on the the pair — who got engaged during his Bachelor season 20 finale that aired in March — experiencing friction over his continued contact with runner-up JoJo Fletcher.
